Every child in Meghalaya achieves their full potential
Enable Meghalaya's children to achieve their full long-term potential by ensuring good health care, nutrition and cognitive development support during the critical years of early childhood (0-8 years) and for pregnant and lactating women.
The Mission takes a holistic, life-cycle approach, addressing all six domains of the WHO Nurturing Care Framework through convergent action across departments.

Maternal & Child Health Services
Comprehensive health interventions including Home-Based Newborn Care (HBNC), Home-Based Care for Young Children (HBYC), maternal health support, early developmental screening through GMCD, and immunization coverage to ensure every child has a healthy start.

Nutrition
Adequate Nutrition for All
Ensuring adequate nutrition through Supplementary Nutrition Programme (SNP), Hot Cooked Meals (HCM), the Egg Mission for protein supplementation, growth monitoring at AWCs, and community-led nutrition actions through VOs and VHCs.

Early Childhood Care & Education
Play-Based Learning for Every Child
Quality ECCE through curriculum rollout, training of Lady Supervisors and AWWs, establishment of Demo Centres, activity-based learning materials, and ensuring every child is school-ready by age 6.

Community Mobilisation
Empowering Communities for ECD
Engaging communities through Village Health Councils (VHCs), Self-Help Groups and Village Organisations, Faith-Based Organisation partnerships, parenting circles, and block conventions to create a movement for child development.

Transforming AWCs into modern ECD Centres through upgradation of 2,148+ centres, construction of new facilities, co-location with schools, Building as Learning Aid (BaLA) integration, and solar-efficient sustainable models.
