MECDM completes training of 2,500 Anganwadi workers across 8 districts on responsive caregiving practices for early childhood development.
The MECDM has successfully completed a comprehensive training programme for 2,500 Anganwadi Workers on Responsive Caregiving practices across 7 districts of Meghalaya.
The training, conducted in collaboration with UNICEF and Tata Trusts, covered key areas including age-appropriate play-based learning, nutrition counselling for parents, growth monitoring techniques, and early identification of developmental delays.
The programme used a cascading model where master trainers were first trained at the state level, who then conducted district and block-level trainings. Each session included hands-on practice with locally developed learning materials in Khasi, Garo, and English.
